DescriptionThe whole story▼
Öhlins developed FCX 2304 around the GasGas EC 450F (2024–2025) — its weight, its linkage and its geometry. Standard cartridges are often damped in one direction and barely in the other.
Key Features
- 298 mm of damper stroke
- Built for the GasGas EC 450F (2024–2025); fits without modification
Materials and Manufacture
Materials read unremarkably on paper — aluminium, steel, nitrogen — and the difference lies in how precisely they are made. Anodising is hard-coat rather than decorative, which matters on a component exposed to road salt and stone chips. Machining, anodising, assembly and testing all happen in the same building rather than across a supply chain.
Fitted to the EC 450F
An enduro bike is ridden slowly far more often than quickly, and the damping that matters most is the damping at low shaft speed.
Damping Performance
The recommended oil is 1330; using something else changes the damping the shim stack was set for. With 298 mm of stroke the damping curve has to do its work in a short distance. Length is 940 mm and is not adjustable on this number. Compression and rebound become separately adjustable, which on most standard forks they were not. The kit is re-valvable, so a suspension technician can go beyond the click range if needed.
The TTX 22 in Detail
Compression and rebound run as separate pressurised circuits, so neither starves the other on a fast series of hits. The TTX 22 answers that with separated compression and rebound circuits inside the fork leg, so damping stays consistent as the oil heats and the hits keep coming. Motocross and enduro forks take more abuse in an hour than a road fork takes in a season.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing covers Öhlins part number FCX 2304 for the GasGas EC 450F, 2024–2025. It is model-specific rather than universal: length, stroke and valving are all set for this chassis. Öhlins notes for this application: Spring series 08765-XX. *Replaces FCX 1304*
Road Approval
Road approval: unclear. There is no published German approval for this part on the GasGas EC 450F, and we would rather tell you that than imply one exists.
Fitting and Setup Service
This is not a part to rush. Öhlins recommends installation by an authorised service centre, and we are an authorised Öhlins service centre — fitting, servicing and setup all happen here. Get in touch if you would like the work done with the order.
