Where It Sits
This one measures 12.1 mm, 16 mm, 31.6 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. An original Öhlins service part, listed under its own number in the Öhlins spare parts catalogue. Individual parts let a workshop replace only what is worn. Öhlins publishes an exploded view for every unit, and each position in it has its own number.
Genuine Service Part
Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.
Getting the Number Right
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 24629-73 in this case. The published dimensions are dimension a 12.1 mm, dimension b 16 mm, dimension c 31.6 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Availability of individual parts is one reason Öhlins units stay in service for decades. Öhlins publishes an exploded view for each unit, and every position in it carries its own number.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
