DescriptionThe whole story▼
Spacer 8.1/16/3, Öhlins part number 01582-27. Öhlins gives every washer and spacer its own part number because its length or thickness is part of the internal geometry.

- Original Öhlins service part
- Dimension B 16 mm
- Dimension A 8.1 mm
- Öhlins part number 01582-27
What It Is
This one measures 8.1 mm, 16 mm, 3 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Spacers are machined rather than cut, so the ends are square and the load is even. Öhlins specifies thread-locking compound by position; not every fastener wants it. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk.
Genuine Service Part
Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand.
Getting the Number Right
Öhlins identifies this position by the number 01582-27 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. Check dimension a 8.1 mm, dimension b 16 mm, dimension c 3 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Öhlins lists these individually because a service usually needs a handful of them. Circlips are single-use in practice: once sprung, they no longer hold their groove reliably.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
