Öhlins publishes 8 mm, 12 mm, 0.30 mm for 00188-12 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. Öhlins grinds shims to a flatness tolerance because the faces have to seal against each other. Two shims of the same thickness but different diameter give completely different damping. A shim is a thin, ground steel washer, and the stack of them is what generates damping.
