What It Is
Öhlins publishes 10 mm, 29 mm, 25 mm for 21817-01 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. A seal that has taken a set no longer springs back and starts to weep. Dust seals keep grit off the running surface; once they are torn, the oil seal behind them has a short life. Seal heads combine the oil seal, the dust seal and the bushing in one assembly.
Why the Original
Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.
Getting the Number Right
21817-01 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. inner diameter 10 mm, outer diameter 29 mm, thickness 25 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. A weeping damper almost always starts here. A seal head combines the oil seal, the dust seal and the shaft bushing in one serviceable assembly.
