Function
Motorcycles with a lot of torque at low revs benefit particularly from a steering damper. The body finish is specified for exposure to weather and road dirt. Once the chassis is set up correctly, the damper setting is usually found within a few rides. Weight at the front, tyre profile and fork setup all influence how much damping a bike needs. Brackets must hold the damper without play, or the damping is lost in the mounts.
Before You Order
Universal fitment gives freedom in placement, but it also asks for careful planning. We supply the unit; the brackets or adaptation depend on the individual build. Because the unit is universal, there is no vehicle list — the dimensions are what count. Brackets from specialist suppliers often exist for common motorcycles — worth checking first. The 120 mm stroke has to cover the full steering lock of the motorcycle it is mounted on.
Setup and Service
Steering dampers are most useful on motorcycles with short wheelbases and steep steering heads. A setting that works on one track day can be written down and repeated on the next. The damper should never take the place of correct chassis setup; it complements it.
