About the RXF 48 S Range
Riders coming from an air fork usually report that the biggest change is consistency rather than outright plushness. The fork is built for racing use and expects racing service intervals — oil and seals at regular hour counts. The RXF 48 is Öhlins' motocross and enduro fork, and the S version adds the spring conversion — a coil spring in place of the air system many current forks use.
Front-End Performance
1330 is the Öhlins oil specification for this number. Öhlins specifies 943 mm here, so ride height stays as the factory set it. The spring is wound to 4,7 N/mm, and alternative rates are catalogue items. With 301 mm of stroke the damping curve has to do its work in a short distance. Settings are marked in clicks from fully closed, so they can be recorded. Each function has its own adjuster, which is what allows one change to be judged honestly.
How Öhlins Builds It
Anodising is hard-coat rather than decorative, which matters on a component exposed to road salt and stone chips. Machining, anodising, assembly and testing all happen in the same building rather than across a supply chain. The two legs are built as a matched pair and tested as one assembly.
Fitment and Compatibility
Öhlins part number FFX 2208 is the correct number for the Triumph TF250-X as built 2024–2025. Because the settings are model-specific, fitting it to a related machine would mean running the wrong specification. Öhlins notes for this application: 08765- spring series *Replaces FFX 1208*
Road Approval
Road approval: not documented by Öhlins for the Triumph TF250-X. We do not state an approval we cannot evidence — please confirm the current status with us before ordering if you intend to use the motorcycle on public roads.
Fitting and Setup Service
