DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Öhlins FFX 1201 exists because the GasGas MC 350F (2022–2023) needed its own settings, not a shared set. Standard forks are packaged and costed first, then damped with whatever room is left.

About the RXF 48 S Range
The S in RXF 48 S stands for the spring conversion: a coil spring replaces the air chamber the standard fork uses. Öhlins builds the fork with 48 mm tubes, which is the diameter current motocross chassis are designed around. The fork is built for racing use and expects racing service intervals — oil and seals at regular hour counts.
Materials and Manufacture
Machining, anodising, assembly and testing all happen in the same building rather than across a supply chain. Öhlins applies a low-friction coating to the sliding surfaces on most fork numbers, which reduces stiction. Seals are specified for temperature stability rather than for the lowest unit cost.
Damping and Adjustment
Eye-to-eye length is 950 mm, fixed for this application. The available stroke of 297 mm sets how much wheel travel the shim stack has to control. A 4,7 N/mm spring comes fitted, and it is the first thing to reconsider if the rider is heavy or light. Spring 02428-47 is what ships with the damper; harder and softer rates are available. Each function has its own adjuster, which is what allows one change to be judged honestly. Settings are marked in clicks from fully closed, so they can be recorded.
Fitment and Compatibility
What follows applies to the GasGas MC 350F built 2022–2023, which is the machine FFX 1201 is listed for. It is model-specific rather than universal: length, stroke and valving are all set for this chassis.
Road Approval
Road approval: Öhlins publishes no approval status for this combination. Rather than guess, we say so — ask us before ordering if road use matters to you.
