DescriptionThe whole story▼
For the Beta RR 4T 480 Racing built 2019–2025, Öhlins specifies FFX 1302. The adjusters on a standard fork often move very little; on this one they move the whole range.
Key Features
- Supplied with Öhlins spring 08765-43
- 301 mm of damper stroke
- Direct fitment on the Beta RR 4T 480 Racing (2019–2025)
About the RXF 48 S Range
Air springs need checking before every ride and change their rate as they heat; a coil does neither. The RXF 48 is Öhlins' motocross and enduro fork, and the S version adds the spring conversion — a coil spring in place of the air system many current forks use. Air forks need a pressure check before every ride, and the RXF 48 S removes that step entirely.
Why This Machine Needs It
Track use raises oil temperature quickly, and a damper that fades takes confidence with it. At 480 cc the RR 4T 480 Racing makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens. This part number spans model years 2019 to 2025; earlier and later generations take different numbers.
Front-End Performance
The fitted spring is 08765-43, and Öhlins lists neighbouring rates under their own numbers. At 940 mm it matches the standard unit's installed length exactly. 301 mm of stroke is what the RR 4T 480 Racing's linkage allows, and the shim stack is set for exactly that. Öhlins specifies 1330 for this application, and the damping curve assumes that oil. Settings are marked in clicks from fully closed, so they can be recorded. Öhlins supplies a baseline setting sheet with the fork.
How Öhlins Builds It
Anodising is hard-coat rather than decorative, which matters on a component exposed to road salt and stone chips. Tube diameter, offset and axle clamp are all specified per model so the assembly drops into the standard yokes. Two units carrying the same part number behave the same way out of the box, which is the whole point of testing each one.
Fitment and Compatibility
Öhlins part number FFX 1302 is the correct number for the Beta RR 4T 480 Racing as built 2019–2025. 4 machines in the range take this number, the Beta RR 4T 480 Racing among them. Öhlins notes for this application: 08765- spring series *Replaces FFX 0302*
