DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Beta RR 4T 390 of 2019–2024 has its own Öhlins part number, and this is it: FFX 2302. The front end is where a rider's confidence is won or lost on the RR 4T 390.
Key Features
- Damper stroke 301 mm
- Fitted spring: Öhlins 08765-43
- Listed by Öhlins for the Beta RR 4T 390 (2019–2024) and no other machine
Construction and Material Quality
Öhlins machines its own critical components instead of buying them in, and the tolerances are where the money goes. The two legs are built as a matched pair and tested as one assembly. Production has stayed in Sweden since the company was founded in 1976.
Damping and Adjustment
Damping was developed with 1330 in the unit. The damper moves 301 mm from full extension to full compression. At 940 mm it matches the standard unit's installed length exactly. Spring part number 08765-43 is a separate catalogue item, so a rate change is inexpensive. Settings are marked in clicks from fully closed, so they can be recorded. Each function has its own adjuster, which is what allows one change to be judged honestly.
Why This Machine Needs It
At 390 cc the RR 4T 390 makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens. Öhlins covers the 6-year production run of this generation with a single part number, which means the mounting and the linkage stayed unchanged across it. On a supersport machine, front-end feel under braking is what the rider trusts, and damping is what provides it.
Where This Sits in the Öhlins Line-up
The coil holds its rate as the fork heats and needs no pressure check between motos. The fork is built for racing use and expects racing service intervals — oil and seals at regular hour counts. Öhlins built the RXF 48 for off-road racing: 48 mm tubes, separate compression and rebound adjustment, and in the S specification a coil spring rather than an air chamber.
Fitment and Compatibility
The fitment stated here is the Beta RR 4T 390 in its 2019–2024 form, under Öhlins part number FFX 2302. The number is shared with 6 sibling models that use the same mounting and settings, and this listing covers the Beta RR 4T 390. Öhlins notes for this application: 08765- spring series *Replaces FFX 1302*
