Key Features
- Dimension B 137 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Dimension A 25.4 mm
- Öhlins part number 60060-23
Function
This one measures 25.4 mm, 137 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Compression and rebound adjusters are not interchangeable even when they look similar. The adjuster is the part a rider actually touches, and its detents are what make a setting repeatable. Öhlins publishes the click count for each unit, and a rebuilt adjuster should return it.
Genuine Service Part
Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up.
Identifying the Right Part
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 60060-23. Öhlins states dimension a 25.4 mm, dimension b 137 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Adjuster housings carry seals, and a leak there empties the damper as surely as a shaft seal. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed units and are replaced rather than opened.
Fitting and Setup Service
If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.
