Function
Dimensionally this is 37 mm, 2 mm, NBR 90, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Replacing seals at service intervals is far cheaper than replacing what a failed seal damages. The groove does half the work: the ring only seals if the groove is clean and undamaged. O-rings are single-use in a pressurised damper — they are replaced whenever the unit is opened.
