- Dimension A 1 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Thread M17x1
- Öhlins part number 01059-01
What It Is
Öhlins publishes 1 mm, 6.5 mm for 01059-01 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. Thread size and height identify the nut; a taller nut changes the stack height. These are the parts that are easy to lose on the bench and impossible to improvise afterwards. Öhlins specifies thread-locking compound by position; not every fastener wants it.
Why the Original
Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.
Getting the Number Right
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01059-01 in this case. Check dimension a 1 mm, dimension b 6.5 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. A plug that seals a gas port is a pressure part despite its size. Small parts are what hold a rebuild together — the wrong circlip or washer is enough to fail the job.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
