DescriptionThe whole story▼
Guide sleeve 8/25/160, Öhlins part number 21925-02. Bushings take the side load so the seal only has to seal.
Key Features
- Öhlins part number 21925-02
- Length 160 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Outer Diameter 25 mm
- Inner Diameter 8 mm
Function
At 8 mm, 25 mm, 160 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. Bushings carry the side load in a damper or fork and keep the moving parts concentric. Öhlins uses low-friction coated bushings so the unit breaks away smoothly rather than sticking. Play at a bushing lets the shaft run off centre and the seal wears unevenly.
Original Öhlins Part
An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.
Getting the Number Right
Order under 21925-02. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. The published dimensions are inner diameter 8 mm, outer diameter 25 mm, length 160 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Play at the bushing shows up as a knock over sharp bumps. Inner and outer diameter both matter; a bushing that is a little loose does more damage than none at all.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
