Function
Öhlins publishes 22.3 mm, 27 mm, 130 mm for 21757-05 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. Bushings take the side load so the seal only has to seal. A bushing is a consumable and is replaced at rebuild rather than reused. Play at the bushing shows up as a knock over sharp bumps.
Original Öhlins Part
Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation.
Identifying the Right Part
Part number 21757-05 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. inner diameter 22.3 mm, outer diameter 27 mm, length 130 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Bushings take the side load so the seal only has to seal. Both diameters and the length are specification, not approximation.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
