DescriptionThe whole story▼
Guide ring 19.3/30.8/15, Öhlins part number 21918-01. A bushing is a consumable and is replaced at rebuild rather than reused.
Key Features
- Original Öhlins service part
- Öhlins part number 21918-01
- Outer Diameter 30.8 mm
- Inner Diameter 19.3 mm
- Length 15 mm
Function
19.3 mm, 30.8 mm, 15 mm: that is the whole specification, and it has to match what came out. Bushings carry the side load in a damper or fork and keep the moving parts concentric. Worn bushings show up as a knock over sharp edges before they show up as a leak. Sleeves position parts axially and often set the preload on a stack.
Why the Original
The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order.
Getting the Number Right
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 21918-01 in this case. The published dimensions are inner diameter 19.3 mm, outer diameter 30.8 mm, length 15 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Bushings take the side load so the seal only has to seal. Both diameters and the length are specification rather than approximation.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
