Manufacture and Tolerance
Anodising is hard-coat rather than decorative, which matters on a component exposed to road salt and stone chips. Fitting
A spring that is the correct length still needs the preload spacer checked, since installed length is what sets sag. Torque the fork caps to the manufacturer's figure; the springs change nothing about the assembly torque. Oil level is measured from the top of the tube with the fork compressed and the spring removed.
Road Approval
Road approval: no separate certificate. The spring changes the rate, not the construction of the fork, and is treated as a service part.
