- Dimension B 65 mm
- Öhlins part number 01054-01
Function
The published figures are 16 mm, 65 mm, 24 mm. Measure the old part against them before ordering. Öhlins machines many eyes from the same billet as the damper body. Spherical bearings in the eye let the damper move without binding as the linkage arcs. The spherical bearing in an end eye lets the damper follow the linkage without side load.
Why the Original
The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.
Identifying the Right Part
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 01054-01. Öhlins states dimension a 16 mm, dimension b 65 mm, dimension c 24 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. A worn eye bearing is often mistaken for worn damping. The end eye carries the whole load of the damper into the chassis.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
