Where It Sits
This one measures 63.5 mm, 88 mm, 5 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Öhlins specifies thread-locking compound by position; not every fastener wants it. Small parts are cheap until one of them is missing on a Friday afternoon. These are the parts that are easy to lose on the bench and impossible to improvise afterwards.
Genuine Service Part
The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.
How to Be Sure It Fits
Order under 25601-05. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins states dimension a 63.5 mm, dimension b 88 mm, dimension c 5 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Retaining rings come in a groove-specific thickness — the next size does not hold. Spacers set the internal geometry of the unit, which means their length is a specification and not a filler.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
