Function
Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Öhlins turns and hones each tube to a defined roundness, because an out-of-round bore leaks past the piston. The cylinder tube is the working bore: the piston runs inside it and every damping force is reacted by its wall. A tube that has been bottomed hard often shows a ring mark; that is a reason to replace it.
