Function
Öhlins gives it as 36 mm, 230 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Öhlins turns and hones each tube to a defined roundness, because an out-of-round bore leaks past the piston. The tube carries the end cap threads, so damaged threads mean a new tube rather than a repair. Reservoir tubes carry the gas charge and are built to the same standard as the working cylinder.
