DescriptionThe whole story▼
Cylinder tube 30/190, Öhlins part number 03036-09. Length here is the working length, not the overall dimension, which is why two similar tubes are not interchangeable.
Key Features
- Original Öhlins service part
- Length 190 mm
- Öhlins part number 03036-09
- Diameter 30 mm
Where It Sits
Öhlins gives it as 30 mm, 190 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Bore finish decides how well the piston band seals; a scored tube leaks damping past the piston. Öhlins turns and hones each tube to a defined roundness, because an out-of-round bore leaks past the piston. The tube also carries the end cap threads, so thread damage means a new tube.
Genuine Service Part
Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.
Getting the Number Right
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 03036-09 in this case. Check diameter 30 mm, length 190 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. The cylinder tube is the working bore: the piston runs inside it and every damping force is reacted by its wall. The cylinder tube is the working bore of the damper: the piston runs in it, and its finish decides how well the piston rings seal.
