DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fitting a brake pressure sensor to the front brake of a Yamaha YZF-R3, built from 2015, usually means breaking into the hose and adding a line most riders would rather not have. Melotti Racing's RBS Brake Manifold was developed around that exact problem for the YZF-R3, giving the sensor its own plug-and-play mounting point without adding so much as a single extra length of hose to the system.
Key Features
- RBS brake manifold for the Yamaha YZF-R3, 2015 onward, built on the same concept as Melotti's 600 Supersport and 1000 Superbike systems
- Melotti part RBS.YA.115, available as a blind-hole version or pre-threaded for M10x1 sensors
- Plug-and-play fit on the YZF-R3's single-disc front brake system
- Adaptable to other bikes running a single-disc front brake
- Mounts the pressure sensor directly, with no extra hose added
- Extra bleed point built in for faster brake bleeding
- Usable in Stock classes
- Built to meet FIM regulations
Construction and Material Quality
The RBS.YA.115 is a compact brake-line fitting that Melotti engineered first for its Supersport 600 and Superbike 1000 brake systems before adapting the same concept to the smaller single-disc front brake of the YZF-R3. It can be bought already machined for an M10x1 pressure sensor thread, or with a blind pre-bore that a rider can adapt to a different thread as needed. Either way, the fitting carries its own additional bleed point, which speeds up bleeding the front brake compared with a line that only has the caliper and master cylinder to work from.
Why a Direct Mount Matters for Data
A brake pressure sensor is only as useful as the signal it sends, and a sensor connected through an added length of hose introduces exactly the kind of extra volume and flex that can blur a reading a data logger is trying to capture cleanly. By mounting the sensor straight onto the manifold instead, the RBS.YA.115 keeps the signal path as short and as stiff as the rest of the brake line, which matters to anyone logging lap data on a YZF-R3 and trying to see precisely when and how hard the front brake is being applied. It is built to the same FIM-compliant standard Melotti uses on its larger-bike brake systems, scaled down for this smaller single-disc front end.
Fitment and Compatibility
Melotti lists the RBS.YA.115 as a plug-and-play fit for the Yamaha YZF-R3, with the same part also catalogued in our shop for the Yamaha YZF-R25. Melotti notes it can be adapted to any bike running a single-disc front brake system, though our listing covers the YZF-R3 specifically. Choose the blind-hole version if you plan to fit a sensor later or need a different thread, or the ready M10x1 option if your sensor matches it.
Road Approval
No ABE exists for the RBS.YA.115. It is supplied for racetrack and closed-circuit use, and fitting a pressure sensor of this kind is a competition modification rather than one intended for road registration.
Scope of Delivery
One RBS.YA.115 brake manifold in the sensor thread chosen at order, complete with the hardware needed to fit it to the YZF-R3's front brake line.
