DescriptionThe whole story▼
Melotti Racing developed this GP clip-on with the teams it supplies in SBK, SSP600 and Endurance racing, Go Eleven, Barni Racing Team, Ten Kate, Wojcik and Extreme among them, and built it in three fork diameters rather than one so the same design can cover a wide range of supersport and superbike models rather than a single chassis. A 20 mm offset and the same GP-derived bracket-to-stub coupling used across Melotti Racing's clip-on range carry through all three sizes.
Key Features
- GP-series clip-ons developed with SBK, SSP600 and Endurance teams: Go Eleven, Barni Racing Team, Ten Kate, Wojcik and Extreme
- 45 mm tall bracket with a bored inner bore for high grip on the fork tube at a lower clamping torque
- Front truncated-cone bracket-to-stub coupling of GP origin, for rigidity and minimal bulk
- Predetermined collapse section in the stub protects the fork's internal hydraulics in a crash
- Vernier adjustment for angular opening, pairing with Melotti's top yokes without a separate jig
- Available for 50, 51 or 52 mm fork tubes, anodised black or natural
Construction and Material Quality
The bracket on these GP clip-ons stands 45 mm tall, and Melotti Racing bores the inner hole to match the fork tube closely rather than relying on raw clamping force, which lets the bracket grip the fork leg firmly at a lower clamping torque than a shallower bracket would need. That lower torque matters under braking: a fork leg squeezed too hard by a tall, well-fitted bracket keeps sliding smoothly through the last part of its stroke, where a loosely toleranced clamp can bind and upset the fork's action right when the front end is loaded hardest.
One Clip-On Design Across Four Manufacturers
Melotti Racing developed this clip-on with the SBK, SSP600 and Endurance teams Go Eleven, Barni Racing Team, Ten Kate, Wojcik and Extreme, which explains why the same bracket and stub design is offered in three fork diameters rather than built around a single model. A 50 mm version suits the Yamaha and Suzuki supersport range, while the 51 and 52 mm versions extend the same clip-on to the Aprilia RSV4 family, so a workshop supporting more than one of these bikes can standardise tooling, verniers and spare stubs across all of them.
Fitment and Compatibility
Melotti Racing lists this clip-on for the Yamaha YZF-R1 (2007-2026) and YZF-R6 (2006-2026), the Suzuki GSX-R600, GSX-R750 (both 2006-2026) and GSX-R1000 (2007-2016), and the Aprilia RSV4 RR and RSV4 RF (2015-2020), RSV4 1100 Factory (2019-2026) and RSV4 1100 (2021-2026), choosing the 50, 51 or 52 mm diameter to match the fork fitted to each of these bikes.
Road Approval
No type approval or test certificate is on file for these clip-ons. Melotti Racing sells them for racetrack and closed-circuit use, riding a bike fitted with them on public roads in Germany without separate registration is not permitted, and at race meetings the organiser's own rules apply.
