DescriptionThe whole story▼
A MoTeC C125 usually sits at the centre of a team's data strategy, not just displaying speed and lap time but logging the channels an engineer reviews after every session, which is exactly why Melotti Racing built a dedicated Impact Absorber for it rather than leaving the dashboard exposed on the subframe. The case is machined from solid aluminium alloy, with a technopolymer front panel shielding the C125's own screen.
Key Features
- Impact absorber for the MoTeC C125 dashboard
- Machined from solid aluminium alloy
- Technopolymer front panel protects the LCD screen
- Quick-fix front panel mounting, no tool needed
- Minimal bulk to fit on racing subframes
- Elastic mounting absorbs impact and vibration without damaging the dashboard's electronics or stored data
- Anodised black finish
Construction and Material Quality
Like the rest of Melotti Racing's dashboard protection range, this case is machined from solid aluminium alloy and carries a technopolymer front panel over the MoTeC C125's screen, held by the same quick-fix mounting used across the range so the panel comes off without a tool. The case stays compact enough to sit on a racing subframe without extra clearance work, which matters on a C125 install where cabling for sensors and loggers is already competing for space around the dashboard.
The Same Elastic Mount, a Different Dashboard
The elastic mounting inside the case isolates the C125 from shock and vibration in a fall the same way it does on every other dashboard in Melotti Racing's range, but on a logging unit like this one the stakes are slightly different: losing a session's data because a connector was jolted loose costs an engineer more than a cracked screen alone would. Keeping the C125 seated securely but not rigidly inside the case reduces that risk without needing any change to how the logger itself is wired.
Fitment and Compatibility
This Impact Absorber is built for the MoTeC C125 dashboard specifically, not for a particular motorcycle, so it fits on any bike carrying that unit on a racing subframe.
Road Approval
No type approval or test certificate is on file for this dashboard protector. Melotti Racing sells it for racetrack and closed-circuit use, and a bike carrying this dashboard set up this way is not permitted on public roads in Germany without separate registration.
