DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ducati's Streetfighter V4, on sale since 2020, strips the fairing off the Panigale V4 but keeps the same engine underneath, including the factory AIS secondary air system that has no job once the bike is built for track use rather than road emissions compliance. On a naked bike, with less bodywork to hide an untidy engine bay, a clean AIS delete matters as much cosmetically as it does mechanically, and Melotti Racing's AIS Valve Cover Set, AIS.DU.3181, gives this Streetfighter V4 a proper pair of covers rather than an open pair of ports.
Key Features
- AIS valve cover set for the Ducati Streetfighter V4, 2020 to 2026
- Melotti Racing part AIS.DU.3181, supplied as a pair
- Machined aluminium covers
- Fits without removing the reed valves underneath
- Also listed for the three faired Panigale versions
- Also listed for the S version of this naked bike
- No ABE for this part on file; for track and closed-circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
The AIS.DU.3181 pair is machined from aluminium and takes the place of the factory AIS valve housings on either side of the cylinder head, exactly as on the fully faired Panigale that shares this engine. The reed valves stay fitted, and the original gasket keeps sealing them under the new cover instead of the stock housing. Melotti supplies this as a straightforward two-cover set, without the extra set screws some of its other engine covers need, which keeps fitting it to a short job rather than one involving fresh threads.
A Naked Bike on the Track
A Streetfighter V4 built for track days loses less of its bodywork than a fully faired Panigale when it is stripped for scrutineering, since there was comparatively little fairing to begin with, and that leaves the engine bay more exposed to a careful eye at a technical inspection. Covering the AIS ports properly, rather than with an improvised plug, is the kind of detail that shows up clearly on a naked bike where there is nowhere for an untidy fix to hide. It is also, simply, one less job left half finished before the bike goes out for its first session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Melotti's price list covers both naked versions of this bike from 2020 onward, and all three faired Panigale versions from 2018 to 2020, all under the same part number; our listing for the base Streetfighter follows the 2020 to 2026 range. No other AIS solution is offered for this engine.
Road Approval
This cover set carries no ABE, no German parts certificate and no EC type-approval, from Melotti or from us. It is built for racing and other closed-circuit use; riding this bike on German public roads with it fitted, without a documented entry, is not permitted, and any event you enter follows its organiser's own technical rules.
