Genuine LS2 replacement chin bar for the FF901 Advant X, part 800901CBB08, finished to match the Spectrum Black Titanium Blue colourway. The Spectrum chin bar in gloss metallic titanium with the blue bands. The base coat carries metallic flake, so it changes from near-black in shadow to pewter in sun — which is precisely why an ordinary grey bar will not pass for it.
The chin bar is the part of a flip-up that takes the abuse. It is the lowest point of the helmet when it is set down on a tank or a bench, it is what a dropped helmet lands on, and it is the section handled at every fuel stop and every set of lights. Being able to replace it — rather than the whole helmet — after a scrape in a car park is one of the practical advantages of a modular design.
It is also a certified structure rather than a cover. Under ECE 22.06 the chin bar is impact-tested and its lock is tested to stay shut, which is what earns the helmet its P classification; SHARP measured the same property independently and found it fully locked in 63 % of impacts. Fit the correct part, fit it properly, and check the lock engages positively on both sides before riding.
