Most paddock regulations do not care how tidy your garage looks — they care that nothing from your bike reaches the ground underneath it. The LighTech CRT001 is a workshop and pit lane mat of 226 by 78 centimetres, a size LighTech supplies as an approved format, and it does the one job the regulation asks of it: it catches what drips. Petrol, chain lube, gearbox oil and brake fluid stay on the mat instead of soaking into concrete or asphalt.

Where It Earns Its Keep
Two situations. In a race paddock, an environmental mat under the machine is a condition of entry in a growing number of series, and a mat that is too short for the bike is as good as no mat at all — the 226 cm length is what makes this one usable under a full-size sports bike rather than a scooter. In a private garage the argument is simpler: a concrete floor absorbs oil permanently, and a chain-lube overspray pattern is there for the life of the slab. The mat takes that instead.
Material and Cleaning
The surface is designed to hold liquid on top rather than wick it through, which is what makes cleaning a matter of wiping rather than scrubbing. Treat it the way you would any workshop textile: get standing fuel off it promptly rather than letting it sit, and roll it rather than fold it for storage so the printed areas do not crease along the same line every time.

Handling and Storage
At 1,900 grams it is light enough to carry rolled under one arm, which matters more than it sounds: a mat that is awkward to move is a mat that stays at home. Rolled, it takes up the space of a small tripod bag in the van. Lay it before the bike comes off the trailer rather than trying to work it underneath afterwards, and give it a few minutes flat in the sun if it has been stored rolled over winter.
Approval
LighTech describes the 226 x 78 cm format as an approved size for box and workshop use. Championship regulations differ, and some series specify both a minimum size and a minimum absorbency class, so check the technical regulations of your own series before you rely on this mat to pass scrutineering. For garage use no approval applies.
