DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 998 cc of a Panigale V4 R is irrelevant the moment it leans past the side stand. LighTech builds the WAPDU409 as a nylon-over-Ergal sandwich, 200 g complete, for exactly this situation. It is offered in 2 colours: Black, Red. The kit costs less than an hour of workshop time on a Panigale V4 R.
Key Features
- The WAPDU409 adds 200 g to a Panigale V4 R and changes nothing about how it steers
- Black, Red — one WAPDU409 kit, 2 ways to match the Panigale V4 R
- Anodised to LighTech's standard finish across the whole WAPDU409
- CNC-machined rather than cast, so the WAPDU409 mating faces stay true on the Panigale V4 R
- One WAPDU409 design serves both the front and the rear axle of the Panigale V4 R
- The WAPDU409 costs less than the smallest part it defends on a Panigale V4 R
- Available in 2 finishes for the Panigale V4 R: Black, Red
Why an Axle Slider Works
The geometry is the whole argument: the WAPDU409 ends further outboard than the fork bottom. LighTech's answer on the WAPDU409 is a two-material build: nylon that flexes, Ergal that holds. A scuffed WAPDU409 is renewed at the insert, not at the kit, which is the point.
Construction and Material Quality
The shell of the WAPDU409 is a nylon moulding with the LighTech logo screen-printed into it. Inside sits a machined Ergal insert — the same alloy family LighTech uses for load-bearing parts. Because the insert is a separate item, a scuffed WAPDU409 is rebuilt rather than replaced.
Fitment
LighTech's fitment for the WAPDU409 is the Ducati Panigale V4 R across 2018 to 2026. It uses the mounting points the Panigale V4 R already carries, so nothing is drilled or fabricated.
Scope of Delivery
The WAPDU409 kit is sold complete; the coloured inserts are the only item also listed separately. If the Panigale V4 R needs a second kit later, the WAPDU409 number is the only thing to quote.
Installation
No special service tool is involved in fitting the WAPDU409 to the Panigale V4 R. Set the standoff with the supplied spacers rather than carrying a figure over from another Ducati. Choose from 2 colours for the Panigale V4 R: Black, Red. All share the same WAPDU409 geometry.
Type Approval
LighTech supplies no type-approval document with the WAPDU409, and we make no approval claim for it. The decision on a road-legal Panigale V4 R belongs to your inspection body. We would rather you asked first than discovered it at the inspection.
