DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a Panigale 1299 the fairing is worth more than the protector by an order of magnitude. The LighTech ARDU110 kit answers that with a nylon outer body over a machined Ergal insert, 340 g for the set. It is offered in 3 colours: Black, Grey, Red. It is cheaper than the smallest part it is there to save on a Panigale 1299.
Key Features
- Coloured Ergal insert inside the ARDU110 — light, strong, renewable on its own
- Supplied complete with the hardware the Panigale 1299 installation needs
- The ARDU110 adds 340 g to a Panigale 1299 and changes nothing about how it steers
- Weight kept low where the ARDU110 hangs furthest from the Panigale 1299 frame
- Nylon outer body on the ARDU110: high elasticity, so it absorbs rather than shatters on a Panigale 1299
- The LighTech logo is screen-printed into the ARDU110 nylon, not stuck on afterwards
- Designed around the Panigale 1299 specifically rather than adapted from another model
Construction
LighTech moulds the outer shell of the ARDU110 in nylon because it gives before it breaks. An Ergal core gives the ARDU110 its structure while the nylon gives it its give. LighTech sells the coloured inner part in pairs, so the ARDU110 is a serviceable assembly.
The Idea Behind It
The principle is simple and the execution is not: stand proud, give way, stay attached. Nylon on the outside of the ARDU110 deforms under impact and springs back afterwards. At 340 g the ARDU110 is lighter than the fasteners it replaces on some machines.
In the Workshop
The 340 g of the ARDU110 arrive as one boxed kit for the Panigale 1299. Set the standoff with the supplied spacers rather than carrying a figure over from another Ducati. The Panigale 1299 takes any of the 3 ARDU110 finishes — Black, Grey, Red — without a change to the hardware.
Fitment
LighTech's fitment for the ARDU110 is the Ducati Panigale 1299 across 2015 to 2018. Torque the fasteners to the Panigale 1299 workshop figures and re-check them after the first ride.
Scope of Delivery
The ARDU110 kit is sold complete; the coloured inserts are the only item also listed separately. The packaging lists the ARDU110 reference, so a second order for the same Panigale 1299 is unambiguous.
Approval and Road Use
LighTech supplies no type-approval document with the ARDU110, and we make no approval claim for it. Rules differ by country; in Germany the Panigale 1299 inspection is where this comes up. If the Panigale 1299 is used on track only, none of this applies.
