DescriptionThe whole story▼
What breaks on a Street Triple 765 R in a low-speed fall is usually not what hit the ground. That is the brief the STETR205 was built to: aluminium face, magnesium carrier, 60 Shore TPE in between. The 765 cc Street Triple 765 R carries it on standard fixings, so nothing is drilled.
Key Features
- TPE shock absorber at 60 Shore in the STETR205 — firm under load, soft under impact
- Covers the Street Triple 765 R across 10 model years (2017 to 2026)
- Three materials, three jobs across 701 g: hard outside, light in the middle, soft at the core
- Nylon shell with a laser-branded LighTech logo as the STETR205 sliding face
- Built for the speeds where a Street Triple 765 R actually falls: paddock, garage, pit lane
- CNC-machined rather than cast, so the STETR205 mating faces stay true on the Street Triple 765 R
- A scuffed STETR205 shell is renewed on its own rather than costing the whole assembly
What the Damper Changes
Every protector transmits what it does not absorb, and the frame boss is where it lands. The STETR205 is built so the magnesium bush allows a controlled amount of travel. What the TPE absorbs never reaches the Street Triple 765 R frame at all.
Fitment
The STETR205 is catalogued by LighTech for the Triumph Street Triple 765 R and nothing else in this listing. Check the clearance to the surrounding bodywork once fitted and set it with the supplied spacers.
Construction and Material Quality
An aluminium ring carries the first contact when the Street Triple 765 R goes over. The oscillation bush and the bottom section are magnesium, which matters at the end of a lever arm. At 60 Shore the damper is firm enough to hold shape and soft enough to flatten on impact.
What Is in the Box
The STETR205 is a two-slider kit; nothing further has to be ordered for the Street Triple 765 R. A worn STETR205 is renewed at the element, not at the kit.
Fitting
Installation on the Street Triple 765 R uses the hardware supplied in the STETR205 box. Leave the final torque until the position is confirmed on the Street Triple 765 R. The Street Triple 765 R kit is Black; LighTech does not list an alternative for the STETR205.
Approval and Road Use
There is no type-approval certificate for the STETR205 and we do not claim one. For a Street Triple 765 R with a registration plate, the fitted position is worth clarifying in advance. Settle that with your inspection body first. On track it is not an issue.
