DescriptionThe whole story▼
A cap is a small change in the most visible place there is. The LighTech TR25 is the quick-release fuel cap, machined from aluminium and anodised, 223 g. LighTech lists it for a 790 DUKE. The body is aluminium, machined on CNC machinery.
Key Features
- Lighter than the original, by the manufacturer's account
- Aluminium, machined on CNC machinery
- A stock LighTech item
- Anodised black outside, coloured inside
- Screws and gaskets included for fitting
- Weight 223 g
The Last Standard Part
Hardware in the middle of a painted panel is either right or glaring. LighTech builds the TR25 as a single part with no lock cylinder inside it. Anything further would be our opinion, not the manufacturer data sheet.
Mounting It
Open the tank only as long as you need to; petrol vapour is the reason. Nothing about this benefits from being done quickly. We check the seal on the lift before the bike leaves.
What It Fits
LighTech names a KTM 790 DUKE, 2018 to 2026, as the application. The fit comes from the filler, which is why the listing names the bike. One message with the vehicle details and we confirm or correct the choice.
One Thing to Note
A detail on the TR25. Nothing in the description is sold separately as an upgrade. Two things a tank cap has to do: seal and vent. Fit the gaskets, close it properly, and check it before the first ride. A quick-release cap has no lock. On a bike parked in public that is a decision, not a detail. Made in Italy, like the rest of the range.
What Is in the Box
The scope of the TR25: the cap itself with its screws and gaskets. The outside is anodised black; the inner part is available in Black. It arrives in LighTech's own packaging.
Paperwork
This part sits on the fuel system, so a word on it. There is no German certificate for the TR25, and we do not imply one. The cap must close fully and the tank must breathe; that matters more than the paperwork.
