DescriptionThe whole story▼
Carbon on a naked bike is not hidden under a fairing — it is the fairing. Here is the CARM1010M: front mudguard in matt carbon, 245 g, sold individually. Made in Italy, like the rest of the range. The finish is matt.
Key Features
- In many cases autoclave-cured, which LighTech credits for its strength
- Single item
- LighTech part number CARM1010M
- 245 g
- Made in Italy
- Clean with neutral detergents only — LighTech's own recommendation
Application
LighTech names a MV Agusta Brutale 675, 2012 to 2017, as the application. Because it is moulded, the CARM1010M either sits flush on this bodywork or does not sit at all. We would rather clarify the fitment in advance than afterwards.
One Thing to Note
A detail on the CARM1010M. LighTech names the quantity itself — a single item. Depending on the part, the CARM1010M is bonded with a little silicone at the support points or screwed on with the fasteners in the box; LighTech does not promise one or the other for every item. Neutral detergents only — the manufacturer's instruction for every carbon part in the range. Keep the part number CARM1010M for a later reorder.
Weight and Surface
A woven surface under clear coat behaves differently to paint over plastic. The CARM1010M answers both: LighTech states its carbon parts are lighter than the components they replace, and much of the range is cured in an autoclave — which is what the manufacturer credits for the strength. The front mudguard arrives with a matt finish. At this price the decision is not a financial one.
Scope of Delivery
You receive the CARM1010M as one part, matt finish. What LighTech includes by way of fasteners is in the package. The LighTech instruction sheet is in the box where one is supplied.
Installation
Dry-fit the front mudguard first, then fix it — that order saves the surface. Nothing about this benefits from being done quickly. We can do the fitting and the check over in one appointment.
Approval
On approval documents. We make no approval claim for the CARM1010M: it arrives without German documentation. For a road-registered Brutale 675 ask your inspection body if you want it in writing.
