DescriptionThe whole story▼
The fastest way to lose the front on an R6 is to have the lever squeezed for you. The ISS200RT bridges the R6 brake lever at 132 mm guard length and weighs 39.6 g doing it. 7 bush finishes exist for the ISS200RT, all at the same price. The 599 cc R6 takes it on the standard bar with the matching adapter.
Key Features
- Listed for the R6 specifically rather than as a universal fit
- Sold individually — an R6 needs one per side for full cover
- Built for track use and road riding alike on the R6
- Covers the R6 across 21 model years (2006 to 2026)
- LighTech logo and the Italian tricolour on the end section
- Stops the brake lever of the R6 being squeezed on contact
Why a Brake Lever Guard
The rule on most circuits exists because of a single failure mode. When another machine touches the lever of an R6, the lever moves and the front wheel locks. Most track organisers will not let an R6 onto the circuit without one.
Compatibility and Installation
This listing covers the Yamaha R6, 2006 to 2026. The guard mounts to the bar end of the R6 via the matching LighTech adapter.
What You Get
What arrives is one complete guard assembly for the R6. A matched pair on the R6 means two guards and two adapters. The ISS200RT number is the only thing to quote for a repeat order.
Fitting
Installation on the R6 starts with removing the bar-end weight. Set the guard angle on the R6 so it clears the fairing at full lock, then tighten. If the R6 runs aftermarket bars, confirm the bore before ordering.
The Adapter Option
At LighTech the guard and the adapter are two part numbers; on this page they are one choice. Adapters are not interchangeable between models; the Yamaha R6 has its own. The part you need alongside it is KPL311, and the “Adapter” option adds it to the order by default. “Without Adapter” is only for riders who already have KPL311 on the bar.
Road Approval and Regulations
Many organisers now check for a brake lever guard before an R6 goes onto the circuit. The ISS200RT comes without approval paperwork for road use. On a road-registered R6 the fitted position is a question for your inspection body, not for us.
