DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a 790 DUKE the bars sit wide and the brake lever is the first thing to meet an obstacle. LighTech builds the ISS200RT from a carbon-graphite polymer that beats aluminium on strength per gram. The guard body is fixed; only the bushes vary, in 7 colours. LighTech catalogues it for the 790 DUKE; each guard is sold as a single item.
Key Features
- 7 bush colours, all at the same price
- Prevents an unplanned front-wheel lock on the 790 DUKE if another machine reaches the lever
- The polymer absorbs rather than transmits, unlike a rigid guard
- Stops the brake lever of the 790 DUKE being squeezed on contact
- 110 g on the bar of the 790 DUKE
- Colour changes the look of the 790 DUKE, not the fit
What the Guard Prevents
A brake lever guard has one job, and it is not cosmetic. A guard works by being the furthest-forward part at the bar end of the 790 DUKE. At 39.6 g the ISS200RT adds less to the 790 DUKE than the bar-end weight it replaces.
What You Get
One guard per box — the 790 DUKE takes two for a matched pair. The bar adapter is packed with the ISS200RT whenever a “With Adapter” value is ordered. The ISS200RT number is the only thing to quote for a repeat order.
Compatibility and Installation
LighTech's fitment for the ISS200RT is the 790 DUKE (2018 to 2026). Check clearance to the 790 DUKE fairing and mirror once fitted.
In the Workshop
Fitting the ISS200RT to a 790 DUKE is a bar-end job with hand tools. Re-check the fasteners after the first ride, as with anything at the bar end. On the 790 DUKE nothing is drilled and nothing is cut.
Before You Order
The ISS200RT needs one more item before it can go on the 790 DUKE. Every motorcycle takes the adapter matched to its own handlebar bore, and the 790 DUKE is no exception. The adapter the 790 DUKE takes is KPL329; it is preselected in the “Adapter” option, which makes the order a complete installation. If KPL329 is already in the bar of your 790 DUKE, “Without Adapter” saves buying it twice.
Road Approval and Regulations
Racing regulations have required brake lever protection for years; track days increasingly follow. LighTech supplies no road type approval with the ISS200RT and we make no approval claim. On a road-registered 790 DUKE the fitted position is a question for your inspection body, not for us.
