DescriptionThe whole story▼
An ER-6N filters through traffic, and a mirror catching the lever is a real scenario. The ISS200RT bridges the ER-6N brake lever at 132 mm guard length and weighs 39.6 g doing it. LighTech makes the bushes in 7 finishes for this guard. It is listed by LighTech for the ER-6N and sold individually.
Key Features
- Prevents an unplanned front-wheel lock on the ER-6N if another machine reaches the lever
- 39.6 g of guard on an ER-6N that would otherwise carry nothing there
- Replaces the bar-end weight on the ER-6N rather than adding to it
- Bar-end weights come off the ER-6N; nothing else does
- GC-Tech polymer filled with carbon and graphite — stronger than aluminium at 39.6 g
- Bush colour is the only choice to make on the ISS200RT
The Failure It Stops
What makes contact dangerous on an ER-6N is not the contact itself. The ISS200RT puts a bridge in front of the lever so contact loads the guard, not the brake. The polymer deforms under impact and returns, where aluminium would stay bent.
What You Get
LighTech sells the ISS200RT individually, not as a left-and-right set. A matched pair on the ER-6N means two guards and two adapters. The ISS200RT number is the only thing to quote for a repeat order.
Compatibility and Installation
LighTech lists the ISS200RT for the Kawasaki ER-6N. Check clearance to the ER-6N fairing and mirror once fitted.
Fitting
Fitting the ISS200RT to an ER-6N is a bar-end job with hand tools. Leave the final torque until the angle is right; the guard should sit parallel to the lever. If the ER-6N runs aftermarket bars, confirm the bore before ordering.
Before You Order
The ISS200RT needs a mount that suits the bar of the ER-6N. Which adapter the ER-6N needs depends on the internal diameter of its bar tube. On the ER-6N the guard goes on with KPL304, which comes with it as long as the “Adapter” option keeps its preselected value. Only where KPL304 is already fitted does “Without Adapter” make sense on the ER-6N.
Regulations and Road Use
On track the brake lever guard is usually not optional. We list the ISS200RT without an approval claim because LighTech issues none. Check your own series regulations for the exact requirement; they differ.
