Construction & Performance

The FTRAP007R earns the R designation through its one-piece billet construction. Where lesser rearsets assemble the main carrier from multiple joined sections, LighTech CNC-mills the entire mount from a single block of Ergal 7075-T6 — the aerospace-grade aluminium alloy preferred in Italian race shops for its outstanding strength-to-weight ratio. The result is a structure with no flex, no play and no energy lost to micro-movement between components. Feedback from the footpeg to the rider is direct and immediate, which matters most mid-corner when you are balancing throttle input against tyre load.

The red anodised footpeg brackets are not merely decorative. Anodising penetrates the alloy surface rather than sitting on top of it, producing a finish that resists abrasion, track debris and repeated contact with boot soles over an entire season. The colour contrast against the black carrier and silver folding pegs gives the RS 660 a purposeful, race-bred appearance that reads as fast even in the paddock.

Adjustability & Shift Configuration

The FTRAP007R offers multiple peg positions — adjustable both in height and rearward offset — so the rider can dial in a position that suits aggressive track riding, upright road touring or anything in between. Gear-shift and brake pin positions are similarly adjustable to match individual ergonomic preferences and riding styles.

The system supports both standard and reverse shift patterns, with the configuration set during installation. Note that switching between patterns requires a full reinstallation — there is no quick-change mechanism. Only the folding-peg variant is available in this R specification.

Fitment & Compatibility

The FTRAP007R is engineered as a direct bolt-on replacement for the Aprilia RS 660, covering all model years from 2020 through to 2026. All hardware required for installation is included in the box. The optional UP & DOWN shift-support system (RFTR244) is sold separately and fits this rearset without modification.
