DescriptionThe whole story▼
A bent clutch lever on a Z900 makes the bike unridable, not just ugly. LighTech's LEVXF005K is the Model K (ALIEN) clutch lever — foldable, 260 g, with black rubber inserts for grip, with other colours available separately. On a 948 cc machine like the Z900 the weight saving at the bar is noticeable in the steering.
Key Features
- LighTech levers are run by teams in MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and WSBK
- Model K is the one to pick if you want to colour-match the Z900
- LighTech part number LEVXF005K, listed for the Kawasaki Z900
- Sold individually; a matched pair on the Z900 is two part numbers
- Same model range as the brake side, so the Z900 can run a matched pair
- No drilling, no cutting, nothing permanent on the Z900
What You Get
One lever per box for the Z900. Keep the reference — a second order for the same Z900 is then unambiguous.
What Folding Buys You
The original clutch lever of the Z900 is heavier than it needs to be. At 260 g the LEVXF005K takes weight off the left bar end of the Z900. A matched pair on the Z900 means ordering the brake side as well.
What It Fits
The listing is the Z900, model years 2017 to 2026. The original Z900 hardware carries it; keep the old lever as a spare.
Changing It Over
Changing the LEVXF005K on a Z900 is a ten-minute job with hand tools. Grease the pivot before assembly; a dry pivot is a lever that will not fold when it matters. Nothing on the Z900 is altered permanently.
The Three Lever Models
Model K is the version with grip inserts in the blade. The inserts are a wear part and are replaced on their own. The other two models in the range — the plain black J and the newer H geometry — share the same material and the same folding mechanism.
Road Approval
The manufacturer's position is that the lever range complies with the relevant road legislation. We pass that on as LighTech's claim. No German approval document accompanies the LEVXF005K. If the Z900 carries a plate, ask your inspection body before fitting — practice differs by region.
