DescriptionThe whole story▼
A folding lever on a Z650 is the difference between a scuff and a recovery truck. That is what the LEVD148K answers: a folding brake lever for the Z650 with grip inserts in rubber, customisable through LighTech's colour range. Fitted to the Z650 it uses the original pivot and the original perch.
Key Features
- 100 % Made in Italy, with the tricolour logo on the blade
- Uses the original pivot and perch of the Z650 — no adapter
- Model K (ALIEN): black rubber grip inserts as standard
- The inserts are available in other colours as separate LighTech items
- LighTech levers are run by teams in MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and WSBK
- Sold individually; a matched pair on the Z650 is two part numbers
The Case for Magnesium
Reach is personal, and the factory lever on the Z650 treats it as optional. The LEVD148K carries LighTech's reach adjustment, which the original Z650 lever does not. Folding is not a convenience feature; it is why the lever survives.
Installation
The LEVD148K goes on with the Z650 on its stand, engine cold. Set the reach before the first ride, not at the first corner. Nothing on the Z650 is altered permanently.
Compatibility
LighTech lists the LEVD148K for the Kawasaki Z650. Check that your Z650 has the standard master cylinder before ordering — aftermarket perches differ.
J, K and H
The ALIEN is the K, and the inserts are its reason for being. Black rubber inserts come as standard, and LighTech sells them in other colours as separate items if you want to match the Z650. LighTech's other models (the plain black J and the newer H geometry) differ in finish and shape, not in construction.
What You Get
What arrives is the blade, the adjuster and the pivot parts. Grip inserts and spare pivots are listed under their own numbers.
Approval and Road Use
LighTech states that its brake and clutch levers are produced in compliance with the highway code and the applicable laws. It is a manufacturer declaration; there is no ABE and no Teilegutachten in the LEVD148K box. Clarify it in advance if the Z650 is used on public roads.
