DescriptionThe whole story▼
Lever reach on an XJ6 is the adjustment most riders never make because the original resists it. LighTech builds the LEVD140J as Model J — foldable, lighter than the original, with the all-black Model J finish. Sold individually, so a matched pair on the XJ6 is two part numbers.
Key Features
- Reach adjustment the original XJ6 lever does not offer
- Developed for the braking loads a XJ6 actually generates
- LighTech levers are run by teams in MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and WSBK
- Model J is the plainest of the three LighTech lever models
- Reach adjustment on the blade
- The blade is the sacrificial part, not the master cylinder of the XJ6
Why This Lever
Reach is personal, and the factory lever on the XJ6 treats it as optional. The LEVD140J carries LighTech's reach adjustment, which the original XJ6 lever does not. LighTech levers are used by teams in MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and WSBK.
Fitment
LighTech lists the LEVD140J for the Yamaha XJ6. It replaces the original lever on the standard perch of the XJ6 — no adapter and no modification.
Fitting
Fitting the LEVD140J does not disturb the hydraulics of the XJ6. Check that the blade folds freely by hand once the bolt is tight. The original lever goes back on the XJ6 any time.
Scope of Delivery
One lever per box for the XJ6. A matched pair on the XJ6 means ordering both sides.
Choosing a Model
Model J exists for riders who want the lever to disappear into the bike. The blade is one piece and one colour, which keeps the part count down. Choosing between this and the K with its grip inserts and the H with its revised geometry is a question of hand and taste, not of fit.
Approval and Road Use
The manufacturer declares compliance with the highway code for this lever family. We do not turn that into an approval claim of our own: the LEVD140J arrives without German paperwork. For a track-only XJ6 none of this applies.
