DescriptionThe whole story▼
A folding lever on a SPEED TRIPLE 1050 is the difference between a scuff and a recovery truck. LighTech builds the LEVD155J as Model J — foldable, lighter than the original, with a uniform black finish, no inserts. Fitted to the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 it uses the original pivot and the original perch.
Key Features
- Covers the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 across 10 model years (2011 to 2020)
- Machined from magnesium and aluminium, not cast
- Model J is the plainest of the three LighTech lever models
- No drilling, no cutting, nothing permanent on the SPEED TRIPLE 1050
- Developed for the braking loads a SPEED TRIPLE 1050 actually generates
- Folds away on contact, which is what keeps a SPEED TRIPLE 1050 rideable after a drop
Why This Lever
Magnesium and aluminium are not chosen for the look of them. Where the original blade transmits a crash into the master cylinder, the LEVD155J folds out of the way. The three models — J, K and H — differ in finish and geometry, not in construction.
Compatibility
The listing is the SPEED TRIPLE 1050, model years 2011 to 2020. Check that your SPEED TRIPLE 1050 has the standard master cylinder before ordering — aftermarket perches differ.
What Is in the Box
What arrives is the blade, the adjuster and the pivot parts. The opposite side is a separate part number.
Fitting
Changing the LEVD155J on a SPEED TRIPLE 1050 is a ten-minute job with hand tools. Grease the pivot before assembly; a dry pivot is a lever that will not fold when it matters. Keep the factory lever — it is the roadside spare.
The Three Lever Models
LighTech's J is the quiet member of the range. Black throughout, which also means the blade shows wear less than a two-tone lever. LighTech's other models (the K with its grip inserts and the H with its revised geometry) differ in finish and shape, not in construction.
What LighTech Declares
The manufacturer's position is that the lever range complies with the relevant road legislation. German registration documents are a separate matter, and the LEVD155J has none. For a track-only SPEED TRIPLE 1050 none of this applies.
