DescriptionThe whole story▼
The brake lever is the only control on an S1000RR the rider touches on every corner entry. Enter the LEVD147J: a 240 g folding brake lever for the S1000RR, Model J, with the all-black Model J finish. It costs a fraction of the fairing a folding lever saves on an S1000RR.
Key Features
- A stock LighTech item rather than a special order
- Model J: a fully black finish, no inserts to come loose
- Reach adjustment on the blade
- Machined from magnesium and aluminium, not cast
- Folds away on contact, which is what keeps a S1000RR rideable after a drop
- Uses the original pivot and perch of the S1000RR — no adapter
Changing It Over
Fitting the LEVD147J does not disturb the hydraulics of the S1000RR. Grease the pivot before assembly; a dry pivot is a lever that will not fold when it matters. Keep the factory lever — it is the roadside spare.
Why This Lever
Reach is personal, and the factory lever on the S1000RR treats it as optional. LighTech machines the LEVD147J from magnesium and aluminium and hinges the blade so it folds under impact. Folding is not a convenience feature; it is why the lever survives.
What It Fits
The listing is the S1000RR, model years 2009 to 2026. Check that your S1000RR has the standard master cylinder before ordering — aftermarket perches differ.
What Is in the Box
One lever per box for the S1000RR. The opposite side is a separate part number.
The Three Lever Models
The J is the version without inserts. No inserts means nothing to replace and nothing to lose on a wet S1000RR. LighTech's other models (the K with its grip inserts and the H with its revised geometry) differ in finish and shape, not in construction.
Road Approval
The manufacturer declares compliance with the highway code for this lever family. A declaration is not a certificate, and the LEVD147J ships without one. On a registered S1000RR the inspector decides, not the manufacturer's leaflet.
