DescriptionThe whole story▼
On an S1000R the brake lever is both a control and the first thing to break. That is what the LEVD144H answers: a folding brake lever for the S1000R with the latest geometry in the range. On a 999 cc machine like the S1000R the weight saving at the bar is noticeable in the steering.
Key Features
- Reach adjustment the original S1000R lever does not offer
- Covers the S1000R across 6 model years (2021 to 2026)
- 100 % Made in Italy, with the tricolour logo on the blade
- Reach adjustment on the blade
- The H geometry changes where the blade sits relative to the grip
- Replaces the factory lever directly on the S1000R
Why This Lever
There are two reasons to change a lever, and only one of them is weight. The LEVD144H is Model H: foldable, 240 g, and lighter than the part it replaces. The three models — J, K and H — differ in finish and geometry, not in construction.
What You Get
The LEVD144H arrives as a single lever with its pivot hardware. The opposite side is a separate part number.
What It Fits
LighTech lists the LEVD144H for the BMW S1000R. Nothing on the S1000R is drilled; the factory lever comes off and this one goes on.
Fitting
No fluid is lost fitting the LEVD144H to a S1000R — the circuit stays closed. Grease the pivot before assembly; a dry pivot is a lever that will not fold when it matters. Keep the factory lever — it is the roadside spare.
The Three Lever Models
Model H came last and brought a different blade shape with it. Geometry is the only thing LighTech changed — construction stayed where it was. LighTech's other models (the plain black J and the insert-equipped K) differ in finish and shape, not in construction.
Approval and Road Use
According to LighTech, the range meets the requirements of the applicable road regulations. It is a manufacturer declaration; there is no ABE and no Teilegutachten in the LEVD144H box. For a road-registered S1000R in Germany, clarify with your inspection body whether documentation is required.
