DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a Brutale Dragster 800 the reservoir has to survive weather, washing and the occasional knock. The OBT001 is machined from solid, laser-engraved with the LighTech logo, and holds 31 cm³. It is offered in 2 anodised finishes; the list is in the technical data. Fitting it to a Brutale Dragster 800 is a job of minutes, not hours.
Key Features
- Nothing on the Brutale Dragster 800 is drilled, cut or permanently altered
- LighTech part number OBT001, listed for the MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800
- Translucent plastic liner, so the fluid level on the Brutale Dragster 800 stays readable
- The mounting bracket is a separate LighTech item — see the note below
- Visible fluid level without removing anything from the Brutale Dragster 800
- 2 anodised finishes for the Brutale Dragster 800: Gold, Green
Why the Original Falls Short
A fluid reservoir does two things, and the factory part does only one of them. At 31 cm³ the OBT001 matches the capacity the original reservoir of the Brutale Dragster 800 carries. The bracket is a separate LighTech article and is only made in black.
Fitment
Fitment is the Brutale Dragster 800 across 2013 to 2018. The reservoir itself is universal. What makes it fit the Brutale Dragster 800 is the bracket and the hose, not the tank.
Care and Checks
A translucent liner only helps if you look at it; make the OBT001 part of the pre-ride check. There is no service interval for the part itself.
Fitting
Allow half an hour on the Brutale Dragster 800 including bleeding. Brake fluid strips paint — cover the Brutale Dragster 800 tank and fairing before you open anything. Nothing on the Brutale Dragster 800 is drilled or cut.
What You Also Need
A mount is not included with the OBT001. The brackets are listed under OBT003, OBT008 and OBT009; they differ in height and projection, not in quality. We can advise which of the three suits your Brutale Dragster 800 — it takes one question.
What Is in the Box
LighTech ships the OBT001 complete except for the mount. Packaging carries the reference, so a second order is unambiguous.
Approval and Safety
This part sits in the brake or clutch hydraulic circuit, which makes it more than a styling item. LighTech does not certify the OBT001 for road use, and neither do we. For a road-registered Brutale Dragster 800 in Germany, have the installation assessed before you rely on it — and have the system bled and checked by a workshop afterwards.
