DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a STREETFIGHTER 848 the reservoir sits in plain sight at the bar, unstyled. LighTech machines the OBT001 from billet and lines it in plastic so 31 cm³ of fluid stays visible. 2 finishes exist; see the specifications for the full range. On a 849 cc machine like the STREETFIGHTER 848 it is the cheapest cockpit change available.
Key Features
- 106 g on the STREETFIGHTER 848
- Finish changes the look of the STREETFIGHTER 848, not the fit
- It is the cheapest visible change on a STREETFIGHTER 848
- 31 cm³ capacity — the figure to check against your STREETFIGHTER 848 master cylinder
- Reversible — the original part goes back on the STREETFIGHTER 848 any time
- Laser-marked with the LighTech logo
Looks and Maintenance at Once
A fluid reservoir does two things, and the factory part does only one of them. The OBT001 comes with a rubber gasket under the cap, which is what keeps fluid where it belongs. The bracket is a separate LighTech article and is only made in black.
Fitment
This listing covers the Ducati STREETFIGHTER 848, 2008 to 2016. Treat the STREETFIGHTER 848 fitment as an application note rather than a guarantee of a drop-in position.
Care and Checks
Fluid darkens as it absorbs water — on the STREETFIGHTER 848 that is now visible without tools. Beyond that the OBT001 asks nothing of you.
Mounting It
Fitting the OBT001 to a STREETFIGHTER 848 is a hand-tool job. Catch the fluid, swap the reservoir, refit the hose and bleed the system before the STREETFIGHTER 848 moves. Nothing on the STREETFIGHTER 848 is drilled or cut.
Sold Separately
One thing to order alongside: the bracket. Three mounts exist — OBT003, OBT008 and OBT009 — and which suits the STREETFIGHTER 848 depends on where you want the tank. Ask us before ordering and we will match the bracket to your STREETFIGHTER 848.
In the Package
One reservoir per box, with its sealing gasket. Spares are listed under their own numbers rather than bundled.
Regulations and the Hydraulic Circuit
Replacing a reservoir touches the brake system of the STREETFIGHTER 848, not just its appearance. LighTech supplies no type-approval document with the OBT001, and we make no approval claim for it. Track-only machines raise no approval question; a registered STREETFIGHTER 848 does.
