DescriptionThe whole story▼
The standard part is painted plastic, and it looks like painted plastic. Here is the CARY8920: rear mudguard in glossy carbon, 250 g, sold individually. LighTech states the carbon range is lighter than the standard components it replaces. LighTech lists it for an MT-09.

- Made in Italy

- 250 g
- LighTech part number CARY8920
Scope and Conditions
One point before you order the CARY8920. The part is supplied as a single item, as stated by LighTech. LighTech describes two mounting routes across the carbon range — silicone at the support points, or supplied screws. Check the box before you start on the CARY8920. On cleaning, LighTech is specific: neutral detergents, nothing stronger. We hold LighTech as a stock range, so repeat orders are routine.
What Autoclave Carbon Buys You
There is carbon, and there is carbon-look film — the difference is in the cure. With the CARY8920 the rear mudguard of an MT-09 becomes a woven surface rather than a painted one, and LighTech puts the weight below that of the standard part. The rest is a matter of taste, which is what the two finishes are for.
Fitment and Compatibility
LighTech lists the CARY8920 for an Yamaha MT-09, model years 2013 to 2026. Carbon parts are moulded to the shape of one bodywork generation — a part from a different year will not sit flush. If your MT-09 is not on the list, ask us — LighTech covers more vehicles than are listed here.
Fitting
Work on a clean, dry surface: carbon sits flush or it does not sit at all. Use a torque wrench where LighTech gives a figure, and feel where it does not. The alternative is simple: leave it to our mechanics.
What Is in the Box
Supplied is the rear mudguard CARY8920 in glossy carbon, a single part. What LighTech includes by way of fasteners is in the package. The LighTech instruction sheet is in the box where one is supplied.
Approval and Road Use
On approval documents. We make no approval claim for the CARY8920: it arrives without German documentation. For a road-registered MT-09 ask your inspection body if you want it in writing.
