DescriptionThe whole story▼
Contact at the bar end of a Z1000SX ends with a grabbed clutch or a broken lever. LighTech builds the ISS116LC from carbon for the body and aluminium for the coloured tip. This is the left-side guard; the brake side is a separate article. It is a stock LighTech item, not a special order. Made in Italy, like the rest of the range.

Construction and Material
Carbon carries the load here; aluminium only forms the coloured tip. 119 g is what LighTech lists for it. Italian production, like the rest of the catalogue.
Why a Lever Guard
Regulations aside, a guard is cheap against a broken lever. LighTech builds the body of the ISS116LC from carbon and the end piece from anodised aluminium. The matching adapter is preselected in the “Adapter” option, so it ships with the guard.
Fitment and Compatibility
LighTech lists the ISS116LC for the Kawasaki Z1000SX. Which adapter the Z1000SX needs depends on the internal diameter of its handlebar tube. Have ISS116LC and the model year to hand and the question is settled in one message.
The Adapter Option
One thing to settle before ordering the ISS116LC: the adapter. Without the right adapter the ISS116LC has nothing to bolt to on the Z1000SX. For the Z1000SX that is KPL304, and it is already selected under the option “Adapter”, so guard and adapter arrive together. “Without Adapter” is only for riders who already have KPL304 on the bar.
Fitting
The adapter goes into the bar first, the guard onto the adapter. Clean the threads before assembly and do not force anything. Nothing on the Z1000SX is altered permanently.
What Is in the Box
The ISS116LC is supplied individually. A matched pair on the Z1000SX means two guards and two adapters.
Approval and Road Use
LighTech does not certify the ISS116LC for road use, and neither do we. Practice differs between regions, and the Z1000SX is judged by the inspector in front of it. One call to your inspection body settles it for the Z1000SX.
