DescriptionThe whole story▼
On track the body position on an XSR900 GP starts at the feet. Enter the FTRYA017R: LighTech's racing specification of the rearset, 1700 g. Multiple forward and rearward adjustments, so the position can be set rather than accepted.
Key Features
- 1700 g
- Machined from solid for rigidity and low weight
- A stock LighTech item
- Every individual component is available separately
- R version: folding silver footpegs on red holders
- No approval paperwork is supplied
Application
The listing is the XSR900 GP, model years 2021 to 2026. The original brackets come off and the kit goes on in their place. If in doubt, compare with the part on the bike rather than with the catalogue line.
Setting the Riding Position
Rearsets are bought for position first and for looks second. The FTRYA017R is built around the stock mounting points of the XSR900 GP. Made in Italy, from selected materials.
Construction and Material
Rigidity is the design goal here — a rearset that moves under the boot tells the rider nothing. The quoted weight is 1700 g. It is made in Italy, which LighTech marks on the part where there is room.
Worth Knowing
Before ordering the FTRYA017R. What the FTRYA017R sets is reach, not height — RFTR244 is the part that moves the pegs up or down. Every individual part of the kit is available separately for later repair or upgrade. The two LighTech rearset series use heel guards that are not interchangeable, and the manufacturer warns against mixing them.
Scope of Delivery
One kit per box. Both sides, with levers, pegs, heel guards and the mounting hardware.
Mounting It
Fitting the FTRYA017R to the XSR900 GP is an afternoon with hand tools. Thread-lock the bolts that LighTech specifies for it — vibration finds the ones you skip. Nothing on the XSR900 GP is altered permanently.
Approval
The FTRYA017R is sold without approval paperwork. Rearsets change the operating position of the brake and gear controls, which is what makes them more than a styling part. Have the brake function checked after fitting, whatever your inspector says.
