DescriptionThe whole story▼
Standard pegs on a ZX-6R sit where a commuter wants them, not where a rider does. That is what the FTRKA009 answers: an adjustable rearset for the ZX-6R, machined from billet. The levers run on bearings, which is what keeps the action smooth under load.
Key Features
- No approval paperwork is supplied
- STANDARD version: fixed silver footpegs and fixed toe pegs
- A stock LighTech item
- Optional UP & DOWN support kit (RFTR244) raises or lowers the footpegs
- Listed for the Kawasaki ZX-6R
- Covers the ZX-6R across 18 model years (2009 to 2026)
Application
Fitment is the ZX-6R across 2009 to 2026. Check that the ZX-6R is in standard condition — an exhaust or a linkage change can occupy the same space. Ask before ordering if anything is unclear — it is quickly answered.
What the Standard Pegs Cost You
Ground clearance and knee angle are set by the same part. The FTRKA009 is built around the stock mounting points of the ZX-6R. The UP & DOWN kit RFTR244 is the optional height adjustment.
Materials and Build
The levers run on bearings rather than in bushes, which is why the action stays smooth. At 1450 g it is lighter than what it replaces on the ZX-6R. LighTech manufactures it in Italy.
Before You Order
A note on how the FTRKA009 is set up. Height on the ZX-6R is a separate purchase: the RFTR244 support kit. Every individual part of the kit is available separately for later repair or upgrade. LighTech warns that the heel guards of the two rearset series are not interchangeable — order a replacement by the kit it belongs to.
Scope of Delivery
What arrives is the part itself. Nothing from the original rearsets has to be reused.
In the Workshop
Fitting the FTRKA009 to the ZX-6R is an afternoon with hand tools. Make sure nothing fouls the exhaust or the frame at full lock and full travel. Check everything again after the first ride.
Approval
Nothing in the FTRKA009 box constitutes a type approval. Where the brake lever sits and how far it travels is part of how the ZX-6R stops. On a track-only machine the question does not arise.
