DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leatt Moto RaceCover Vest is a bad-weather layer you can see through. Made from a soft, lightweight translucent material that Leatt specifies as waterproof, it pulls on over jersey and body protection when the sky turns, while your kit underneath stays visible and the vest itself stays out of the way.
It is built for motocross, enduro and trail riders who want something between no rain protection and a full jacket.
Key Features
- Soft, lightweight translucent material, specified as waterproof by Leatt
- Waterproof front zipper
- Large ventilation areas on the sides against overheating
- Tailored cut for riding with or without body protection
- Wide size range from S to 5XL
- Plastic-free packaging
Rain protection
Leatt calls the RaceCover a bad-weather solution, and the material is chosen for that job: soft, light and, according to the manufacturer, waterproof. The front zipper is waterproof as well, so the main opening is not the weak point. The vest covers the torso, which is where wet and cold hit hardest at speed.
Airflow
Rain gear that does not breathe soon turns into a sauna. To prevent that, Leatt builds large ventilation areas into the sides of the RaceCover, letting air in and heat out while you work hard on the bike.
Cut for armour
The tailored pattern is designed for riding with and without body protection. You can wear the vest straight over a jersey on a light day or over a chest and back protector when the track is rough, without it pulling tight.
Sizes
This listing runs from S up to 5XL. Leatt keeps the vest lightweight, so it is easy to carry along and pull on when the weather changes.
Material
The fabric is 100% polyester, given a soft feel and a translucent finish. Leatt ships the vest in plastic-free packaging.
What you should know
Leatt describes the material as waterproof; think of the RaceCover as a light shell that goes over your kit rather than full storm gear. It has no sleeves, no insulation and no impact protection, and no EN 17092 class is stated. The large side vents are good for airflow, but in driving rain some water can find its way in there.
Colour
Clear means the vest is see-through, with a smoky, translucent look. A black band with large white Leatt lettering crosses the chest, and a second black band with Leatt lettering runs along the hem. Your jersey colours and sponsor logos show through the shell, so the vest does not hide the look of your kit. Mud on the outside is easy to spot and to rinse off.
